Kindness is a Virtue

Hello wifey, Hello hubby...  Kindness is a virtue. It was a virtue yesterday. It is undoubtedly still one today and I am certain it will still be tomorrow. Kindness is an important virtue for sustaining relationships, which helps to build a trusting and cooperative society. So, as long as we still live in this world and interpersonal relationships continue to exist, kindness will remain a mark of moral excellence. Doubtlessly, we are in a generation of wokeness. This means that everyone is woke, with our social awareness to the very high heavens and no one wants to be taken advantage of for any reason. This is a very beautiful place to be. Personally, I love the concept and how almost everyone stands to defend it. But I have a question, "does this sense of alertness against cheating of all sorts rub us off the virtue of kindness?", "Has wokeness replaced this act of humanity originally ingrained in us?", "Do we lose our very kind nature because we do not want ...

COME ALIVE LITTLE BIRD

Hey little bird! Little bird on the tree. Little bird on the tree could you please sing for me? You sit there and watch with gloomy eyes. Where went your chatterings? Where went your chirpings? Hey little bird! Who clipped your wings? Please, come alive little bird. Again, little bird, come alive @Amarachi Nwankwo, 2019 Note: Children are like birds- beautiful, full of life with bright futures ahead. May we be careful not to ruin their lives with our words, silence, actions and inactions. May we never clip their wings. May we invest love, care and much more into their young lives and be sure to reap them. May we build a sane society. #saynotosuicide

A SAINT OR NOT?

A SAINT OR NOT? . ___ I do not write because I am a Saint. I am no saint. All have sinned and become short of the glory of God. But shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? The wages of sin is death! Understood? I have questions Do we have big sins and small sins? I mean, are some sins bigger than others? Some sins are green, white, green you say? Are there red sins? Black sins? Are some clothed in white and pure? I ask because I see people award themselves- And glory in their ‘sainthood’ For not stealing, committing adultery and killing. Those must be black sins I guess- But what about backbiting, anger, envy, un-forgiveness? Those are not entirely black na, maybe brown you say. My point? All sins are equal. We are all sinners in need of Christ’s saving grace. Your duty is to judge not. Strive to be better. Ask for God’s mercy and purification. Rejoice not over another’s downfall to sin. Pray to be like Jesus. © Amarachi Nwankwo, 2018

To EAT AND TO LIVE...

You work so hard, even neglecting your loved ones Why? To put food on the table. You are arrogant and mean to a colleague- You’re like “what does he think he is? To hell with him! He doesn’t even put food on my table”. You are disrespectful to everyone in your neighborhood- When asked, you say blah blah blah and proudly conclude, “besides, they do not feed me” You settle for the worst- You don’t care. “As long as it puts food on my table” you say. You hurl insults at anything and anyone who doesn’t feed you. Someone hurts you and the first thing you lament about is how much you had to feed him/her for a long long time. Instead of maximizing your business to yield more profits and improve standard of living- You relax and remain stagnant. You do not strive to be better because you measure success by being able to afford a three-square meal daily. You do not think of human development in its entirety, Rather, all you think is ‘stomach infrastructure’ As long as belle-fu...

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN We are human beings’ first Then male and female With each (male/female) having their unique attributes- And roles specific to their genders. But as humans who are dynamic by nature, we can switch roles without much ado- But only IF we have/want to. No one should be rebuked or undermined for sticking strictly to his/her gender roles. No one’s rights should be infringed on for being male or female This is what feminism is all about! Both men and women have the rights to vote, to hold public offices, to work, To earn fair and equal wages, to own property, to be educated and so on. However, when it comes to the home, there is a Divine established structure. Here, the man is the head with all sole responsibilities. And the woman is a help mate, created to assist the man in his responsibilities. Now my opinion…. A woman is meant to keep the home Making sure her husband, the kids and everyone else are well taken care of, There’s ...
