FOR 14th February

Hey fellow lovers! The season of love is here again. I am a big fan of the word, ‘LOVE’ and so this day means a lot to me. Who doesn't like the idea of being loved? I’m certain everyone does only that some do not like the idea of loving and that’s sad! It’s important that you love yourself, love others and love God above all. Only when you do this will you live a life of fulfillment. Say no to hate for it kills you!

My advice, as you spend the day showing your romantic partner or prospective romantic partner how much you love him/her, remember that there are people living in abject poverty in your arena. There are orphans and homeless people around you. Even that mad man that passes by your street everyday can benefit from your loving gesture somehow. And Theodor Reik was in same spirit with me when he said, “In order to be happy with oneself it is necessary to make at least one other person happy” Also, if you expect a gift from him, why not get him one?

Enough of the sermon! Now here is a love poem I choose to share on this day. You can recite it to your lover or ‘imaginary lover’ as the case may be. You can just change few words there, depending on the sex (male/female) of the person. I hope you enjoy this.

                        MY LOVER
    My lovely handsome lover
He taught me to be tender
For him this case I render
Coz he makes my heart shiver

    My lovely handsome lover
Who makes my heart to shiver
His smiles make me joyfully feel like a Diva
As I journey life’s thousand miles, he’s my driver

    My lovely handsome lover
Like a lark he makes me to laugh so tender
Before him, love catches me like a fever
His love so spicy like a Ginger

             My lovely handsome lover
He is my prince and I’m his princess Lovina
Together we swim this ecstatic river
And with him I will live in peace and feel better

Have yourself a wonderful valentine’s day!

DIARY OF A TIRED GIRL AND LESSONS LEARNT

Today is 9 th  of October, 2016 and time is 11:30pm. I am lying on my bed this Sunday night feeling tired, very very tired. My tiredness is borne out of the various activities I had engaged myself in. I sat on my chair, computer on table with my eyes fixed to the computer screen. I had been on this for long hours now. I only got up when I needed to cook, brush, have my bath and then I continued the act. This feeling of fatigue! For the greater part of the last three months, this has been my routine. I remember having body aches sometime as a result. I had to visit the hospital for that but on this fateful night, I learnt my lesson. I cannot even believe I’m writing this. I tell you, I’m feeling so tired!  I've  been feeling dizzy, like…I’d fall to the ground and then…Halfway to writing this, I was called to join the rest of the family for our daily evening prayers. During the course of our prayer meeting, ‘Nepa’ took light. I’m back to my room feeling even worse b...

Kindness is a Virtue

Hello wifey, Hello hubby...  Kindness is a virtue. It was a virtue yesterday. It is undoubtedly still one today and I am certain it will still be tomorrow. Kindness is an important virtue for sustaining relationships, which helps to build a trusting and cooperative society. So, as long as we still live in this world and interpersonal relationships continue to exist, kindness will remain a mark of moral excellence. Doubtlessly, we are in a generation of wokeness. This means that everyone is woke, with our social awareness to the very high heavens and no one wants to be taken advantage of for any reason. This is a very beautiful place to be. Personally, I love the concept and how almost everyone stands to defend it. But I have a question, "does this sense of alertness against cheating of all sorts rub us off the virtue of kindness?", "Has wokeness replaced this act of humanity originally ingrained in us?", "Do we lose our very kind nature because we do not want ...

THE ROAD TAKEN

INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE AND DEVELOPMENT: The Road Taken                           And The Journey So Far Woodrow Wilson says, “You are here not merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand” The above quotation has not only been at the back of my mind but also at the forefront of my mind since I came across it. In fact, I even have it boldly written and conspicuously placed somewhere in my room. And as a result, every day I see it and reflectively meditate on it first thing when I wake up and last before I go to bed. Then, I make an earnest assessment of how muc...
