NO CAPTION

I know you
Yes, YOU!
You have been through more pains than joy
Life has been unfair to you
You failed where others succeeded
You have questioned God
You have questioned the reason for your existence
If questions yielded breakthroughs,
You’d have become the most accomplished human
You have reasoned suicide
You have tried to take your life
But like every other of your endeavors,
You failed woefully
You have been jeered at many times
In fact, you have got used to the jibes
You have tried so hard to be different, to be great

But…but, still, yet….
Now, you have resorted to ‘fate’
Your fate
For sure you know that all humans are equally humans
But you also know that some are more human than others
And you believe that you fall into the ‘others’ group
This, you believe is your fate
You quit trying!
But why not? Why keep trying only to fail?
You have decided
You will exist henceforth and quit striving to live
The gift of life is not for everyone that breathes

But hey!
You know you are beautiful/ handsome
You know you are hard working
You know you have been blessed with wisdom like a god/goddess
You know the day you quit trying is the day you die
You know you can’t afford to die while you still have breath
You know you have had your failures but you still can’t afford to be a failure
You know…
You know it too well that you cannot take your life
You can’t bear to die without fulfilling at least one of your dreams

I know you
Because I was once like you
But I quit!
You can do this
Yes, you can decide to live as long as you have breath
Choose to be successful
Choose to be different
Choose to make impact
Choose for your voice to be heard even long after you’re gone
Do not ever give up on yourself ever again
You know why?
Coz God has not given up on you and never will
Yes, GOD
You might have lost your faith in Him
But still, only in Him can you find true joy, comfort and fulfillment
Renew your faith in Him.

I know you
Yes, YOU
I believe in you
Believe also in yourself
You can make it
You will make it.

DIARY OF A TIRED GIRL AND LESSONS LEARNT

Today is 9 th  of October, 2016 and time is 11:30pm. I am lying on my bed this Sunday night feeling tired, very very tired. My tiredness is borne out of the various activities I had engaged myself in. I sat on my chair, computer on table with my eyes fixed to the computer screen. I had been on this for long hours now. I only got up when I needed to cook, brush, have my bath and then I continued the act. This feeling of fatigue! For the greater part of the last three months, this has been my routine. I remember having body aches sometime as a result. I had to visit the hospital for that but on this fateful night, I learnt my lesson. I cannot even believe I’m writing this. I tell you, I’m feeling so tired!  I've  been feeling dizzy, like…I’d fall to the ground and then…Halfway to writing this, I was called to join the rest of the family for our daily evening prayers. During the course of our prayer meeting, ‘Nepa’ took light. I’m back to my room feeling even worse b...

Kindness is a Virtue

Hello wifey, Hello hubby...  Kindness is a virtue. It was a virtue yesterday. It is undoubtedly still one today and I am certain it will still be tomorrow. Kindness is an important virtue for sustaining relationships, which helps to build a trusting and cooperative society. So, as long as we still live in this world and interpersonal relationships continue to exist, kindness will remain a mark of moral excellence. Doubtlessly, we are in a generation of wokeness. This means that everyone is woke, with our social awareness to the very high heavens and no one wants to be taken advantage of for any reason. This is a very beautiful place to be. Personally, I love the concept and how almost everyone stands to defend it. But I have a question, "does this sense of alertness against cheating of all sorts rub us off the virtue of kindness?", "Has wokeness replaced this act of humanity originally ingrained in us?", "Do we lose our very kind nature because we do not want ...

THE ROAD TAKEN

INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE AND DEVELOPMENT: The Road Taken                           And The Journey So Far Woodrow Wilson says, “You are here not merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand” The above quotation has not only been at the back of my mind but also at the forefront of my mind since I came across it. In fact, I even have it boldly written and conspicuously placed somewhere in my room. And as a result, every day I see it and reflectively meditate on it first thing when I wake up and last before I go to bed. Then, I make an earnest assessment of how muc...
